Pro Novelist keeps track of all your scenes (chapters).

Scenes (chapters) are available next to the editor and you can move quickly between scenes. Just click on a scene and it will load into the editor immediately. In addition, there's a scene editor which you may use to add and remove scenes.

Wizards

If you want to plan your novel, then you may use one of the wizards to craft chacters and the plot. The wizards ask a number of questions and help you to consider important aspects of the book.

There's one wizard called the idea wizard. The idea wizard can be used to plan the book on a basic level. And there's a template wizard, which you may use to plan scenes, add and/or remove scenes etc.

The information you supply to the wizards is then used by the editor tools. Scenes become available in the word processor. And if you get stuck, the "Writer's Unblock" function can suggest a possible resolution of the scene you're working on.

Find and Share

There's a Find function which you may use to search for book ideas and templates that have been shared by other authors. These are in the public domain so you may use them for commercial or non commercial projects.

If you use the find function and decide to use an idea or a template (or even a book draft), then these are copied to your own Pro Novelist account and you can edit them before you use them.

Write with a friend

Pro Novelist is a collaborative environment, which means that you may write a book with other community members. Just decide who will get access to the book and you will be able to edit one and the same book.

The editor looks exactly the same, no matter if you're writing the book alone or with a friend. The only difference is that each time you save the book, all changes which your writing mate has done will be loaded into your editor as well, so you can read his or her texts immediately.

Submission Tool

Publishers can join Pro Novelist and read the first chapter of books which members have decided to make available for them. Or if you don't want to use this function, then there's a submission tool which you can use to track your manual submissions to publishers and agents.

Quick Start

If you want to start writing immediately you can use the Quick Start function. A single click with the mouse and the Quick Start function will create an empty book and a set of empty scenes. It couldn't be easier.

Work anywhere on your book

The only thing you need is Internet access and a computer (Mac or Windows). Take a break at work or at school and write a few minutes. Continue at home. Visit an Internet cafe on your vacation and write a scene or two. Pro Novelist is a web service which gives you the freedom to work anywhere, anytime.
